Red Sox Celebrate Barbie at “Kenway” Friday Night

Like it or not, it’s a Barbie world, as the Red Sox celebrate Barbie at “Kenway” Friday night.

The Barbie world of PINK, clashes with the world of GREEN at Fenway, which will be renamed, Kenway, named after Barbie’s BF, Ken.

The last place Red Sox, are shooting for something close to the top. So why not make it the number one movie of 2023. According to WCVB:

“Whether you’re a Barbie or just Ken (or even Allan), help us kick off Barbie Night with our pregame Pink Party on the Sam Deck and dance the night away!” the team’s announcement said.

The team will even have some merchandise for fans who purchase tickets on their website.

Barbie Box Office

While I am little surprised that the Red Sox are aligning with something so far away from anything sports, or baseball or Boston, you can’t argue with the success of the movie. According to Box Office Mojo:

Barbie is currently the 14th highest-earning film of all time at the worldwide box office with $1.4 billion in earnings, per Box Office Mojo, despite having been banned in a handful of countries. 

Forbes reports:

After earning $3.5 million in its ninth weekend in theaters, Barbie has now surpassed Marvel’s Avengers to become the 11th top-earning film of all time in terms of domestic sales.  Let’s repeat that: It has surpassed Avengers. So for this moment in time, girl power is stronger than nerd power.

If you’re like me and one of the uncool people that simply didn’t get it, us stragglers can buy Barbie on Amazon Prime for $29.99, and watch it over and over. Also it’s coming to HBO Max October 25.

Well, everyone knows someone who’s a fan. So I wont judge as we watch the Red Sox celebrate Barbie, at Kenway, Friday night. But, please, please, PLEASE, NO PINK uniforms. Thank you.

    It stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn, Matt Damon, and Michael Caine. Set in a dystopian future where humanity is embroiled in a catastrophic blight and famine, the film follows a group of astronauts who travel through a wormhole near Saturn in search of a new home for humankind. Again, if it’s directed by Chris Nolan, it’s going to be good.
