Happy Dog Rescued By Drone Technology In New Jersey
A missing dog rescued by drone technology in New Jersey is making national news. Every pet owner can understand the pain of a family that lost their pet. Even worse, what about the family that is searching for their fur baby, hoping, praying it’s still alive. Well, thanks to new technology, some of that pain can now be replaced by relief.
Pet Owner’s Nightmare Comes True
It is every pet owner’s nightmare. Your dog escapes, runs out on to a very busy road, and the unthinkable happens. Your dog is struck by a moving car. Then, it gets worse. The dog, understandably shaken, somehow, gets up and runs away, into the woods. In a panic, you ask yourself, is it hurt? Where did it go? We need to find it. Every second counts, as you wonder if the dog is alive, after being struck by a moving automobile.
Last Friday night, Mary Van Zant’s two dogs, Sophie and Guinness, got loose from their South Amboy home. Sophie was caught quickly. But Mary wasn’t that lucky when it came to their other dog, Guinness, who was struck by a car and ran into the nearby woods.
Guinness The Dog Rescued By Drone, Found Safe
Thanks to a company in New Jersey, the woods were no match for their drone technology.
The family contacted a nonprofit, called the U.S.A.R. Drone Team, which specializes in finding missing people and pets, among other things. “I had to find the dog because she kept crying and my arm was getting soaked,” said Michael Parziale, founder of the U.S.A.R. Drone Team. “So I said ‘I’ve got to find this dog for them.” They searched for two days without any luck, until Parziale spotted Guinness and directed the Van Sant’s to the dog.
Guinness was cold and scared, but he knew it was Mary there to save him. He had some minor injuries, but will be just fine.
The U.S.A.R Drone Team is a non-profit the was created to save lives with high level technology to go where search teams cannot, to find those that are lost, humans or animals. To find out more and make a donation, click here.
