Sadly, Jennifer Lopez Cancels 7 Shows, Boston Not Affected
JLO fans across the nation are scratching our collective heads. In the get-it-now, information world we live in, one thing is for sure today. We don’t know why we are reading the headline:
Jennifer Lopez cancels 7 shows, quietly.
When an artist tours, it’s usually to support and create excitement for a new release. So, what gives? Seven cities, at once?
This Is Me..Now: A Love Story
Almost one month ago on February 16, JLO released: This Is Me..Now: A Love Story. As expected, the JLO marketing machine lauched this release with a perfectly syncronized LIVE performance on Saturday Night Live. Add to that, tickets went on sale for a nationwide tour. According to Billboard.com:
Lopez’s first tour in nearly five years launches June 26 at the Kia Center in Orlando. The tour will stop in Miami, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston, Washington D.C., Cleveland, Montreal, Toronto and more cities across North America, including New York City, where the Bronx native will take the stage at Madison Square Garden on Aug. 16.
While Boston was not included in that press release, JLO did add a TD Garden date August 7, 8pm.
Jennifer Lopez Cancels 7 Shows
Insert right now, things have changes in seven cities for JLO fans. According to USAToday.com and Ticket Master:
Lopez will no longer stop in Nashville, New Orleans, Raleigh, Atlanta, Houston, Cleveland and Tampa.
Ticketmaster’s website says that the event organizer has canceled the event and that no action is required to obtain a refund. At this time, the reason for the canceled shows is unknown.
With JLO being such a dynamic public figure, it won’t be long for the pressure to mount up on why these shows were canceled. At this time, the Boston show is still scheduled.
Jennifer Lopez Meet And Greet
One rather interesting fact that has gone relatively unnoticed was the price of the tickets. For up front tickets in Boston, you may end up paying $1200 each for best view seats. For front row, you up to $4189 each at the time of this writing. If you want to meet Jennifer Lopez, and who doesn’t, it will cost you.
The going rate for a front row V.I.P. Meet and Greet package: $6536 dollars each.
Don’t tell Ben, but to afford that, you may have to skip your Dunks for awhile.
