Home Depot Halloween Skeletons Early Look: A Terrifiying 12 Feet Tall

Welcome to America, where everything is supersized. Just in time for Halloween, in 7 months, a Home Depot early reveal will have Halloween fans screaming in fun. 

It's barely Spring, never mind Summer, or Fall. But leave it to Home Depot to help us to a we can do it, Shocktober. Just revealed, the newest Home Depot Halloween skeletons are now a frightening 12 feet tall. It's a supersized world. Everything is bigger. These giant skeleton's started showing up around Halloween, at least my neighborhood last year. It seems since the invention of Tik Tok, and social media in general, families are working overtime to create over-the-top Christmas and Halloween displays to stun and dazzle their neighbors. Home Depot calls them Halloween Superfans.

According to the National Retail Federation, last year:

Total Halloween spending is expected to reach a record $12.2 billion, exceeding last year’s record of $10.6 billion, according to the National Retail Federation’s annual survey conducted by Prosper Insights & Analytics. According to Axios: 

There's an arms race among retailers to move holiday merchandise earlier and earlier. They're aiming to get shoppers whipped up well in advance of their festivities and, ideally, spending more money. "This is the earliest we have ever announced any of our Halloween products," Home Depot told Axios in a statement. "We wanted to share what is coming for our Halloween superfans."

NRF says Halloween spending has exceeded pre Covid levels.

Last year, the 12 foot Home Depot Halloween skeletons affectionately named Skelly was supposed to be it's last year. The 2024 Skelly is new and improved for a boo busting price of $299, which is the same as last year's Skelly price.

Our apologies to the Easter Bunny. A Home Depot Halloween skeleton named Skelly, is the new star. Make no bones about it.

If you haven't experienced the Stranger Things Rhode Island House, in North Providence Rhode Island, there is still plenty of time to visit your local neighborhood upside down world. Actually, it's just like the Netflix series: just the right amount of BOO! Well visit together shortly! But what IS Stranger Things?

If you really watch Stranger Things, you may say to yourself, self, I have seen this movie before.  Stranger Things is a wonderful homage to the 1980's movies where kids are smarter than the adults. What kid at heart doesn't love that? Don't you remember the time where we were smarter (we thought) than our parents and teachers? Throw in paranormal beings from another dimension and boom, you are an instant hero, saving your town. They even bring in Goonies, Sean Astin for a season!

Like E.T. Stranger Things comes with a secret government enterprise doing secret things, with secret powers that no one knows about, except the kids.

But make no mistake, unlike E.T. Stranger Things provides some SCARY moments. Be careful with young children viewing.

A family in Rhode Island is no stranger to Stranger Things. Steven Simoneau of North Providence Rhode Island and his 11 year daughter Isabella got hooked to Things, so much, they transformed their home into a neighborhood upside down world! Starting this past summer, Steve and Isabella began the transformation. Steve has experience creating props and sets for music videos and as you'll see, he put that experience to work.
