It’s barely Spring, never mind Summer, or Fall. But leave it to Home Depot to help us to a we can do it, Shocktober. Just revealed, the newest Home Depot Halloween skeletons are now a frightening 12 feet tall. It’s a supersized world. Everything is bigger. These giant skeleton’s started showing up around Halloween, at least my neighborhood last year. It seems since the invention of Tik Tok, and social media in general, families are working overtime to create over-the-top Christmas and Halloween displays to stun and dazzle their neighbors. Home Depot calls them Halloween Superfans.
Halloween Spending Stats
According to the National Retail Federation, last year:
Total Halloween spending is expected to reach a record $12.2 billion, exceeding last year’s record of $10.6 billion, according to the National Retail Federation’s annual survey conducted by Prosper Insights & Analytics. According to Axios:
There’s an arms race among retailers to move holiday merchandise earlier and earlier. They’re aiming to get shoppers whipped up well in advance of their festivities and, ideally, spending more money. “This is the earliest we have ever announced any of our Halloween products,” Home Depot told Axios in a statement. “We wanted to share what is coming for our Halloween superfans.”
NRF says Halloween spending has exceeded pre Covid levels.
Home Depot Halloween Skeletons Has A Name
Last year, the 12 foot Home Depot Halloween skeletons affectionately named Skelly was supposed to be it’s last year. The 2024 Skelly is new and improved for a boo busting price of $299, which is the same as last year’s Skelly price.
