McIntyre is a credited writer on six records on the album that were created with songwriter and producer Sean Thomas. “It says a lot about any band to make a record that has energy and passion and lightness and fun and depth,” McIntyre said. “After almost 40 years together? It’s crazy.”
New Kids On The Block’s Joey McIntyre On 1057 WROR
It was great to catch up with Joey. My history with the band goes WAYYYY back to the 1980’s, when they first arrived on the scene. At the height of thier popularity, I was a DJ at two stations at one time. I was a weeknight DJ on Top 40 Eagle 106 in Philadelphia. Then on the weekends, I’d drive to New York City to be on the iconic Top Forty station, Z-100. New Kids were so hot, I remember, playing a NKOTB song every HOUR. Flash forward to 1999, I became a program manager of a station in Chicago. Joey had a radio countdown show, that we gladly aired on my Top 40 station there. You’ll hear him refer to that in the interview. Click on the arrow below to hear Joey! Don’t forget, click here for the special NKOTB 4 pack of tickets for $89 dollars! (Plus fees.)
