Fans SUING Madonna For Showing Up Late
It’s true. New York fans are SUING Madonna.
Will fans in Boston follow suit? For years, the superstar, queen of pop tested the waters, crossed the line and shoved every other metaphor in the face of breaking rules. For years fans LOVED it, until now.
Has Madonna finally gone TOO far? Are her fans, once young reckless and single, NOW too responsible for her rule breaking, over the top attitude?
Law And Order For Madonna
I can hear the TV Law and Order GONG GONG now. Two men from New York are actually SUING Madonna for being over TWO HOURS LATE for her show in New York at the Barclays Center.
The problem with many of Madonna’s shows is that they are on a weeknight, making heading to work the next day almost impossible. Now add to that, if you’re expecting to see her hit the stage at 8:30pm as it says on the ticket, and she doesn’t appear until 10:45pm, that’s a problem. Especially if you had to rely on public transportation for your ride home. For her second Boston show, the MBTA had to extend closing times, and stay running longer to accommodate Madonna’s tardiness. For the first night at the Garden the show ended so late, many had to make other arrangements to get home, if they stayed to the end of the show.
Of course like everything Madonna the lawsuit has made national news. According to ABC’s Good Morning America:
“Fellows and Hadden (the ticket holders) are suing Madonna, Live Nation and Barclays Center for “unconscionable, unfair, and/or deceptive trade practices” for promising the public that the concert would begin at 8:30 p.m. knowing that Madonna would not begin performing at the advertised start time. The pair is arguing there was a breach of contract.”
This isn’t the first we have read about fans suing Madonna for being late. In one case she was again two hours late, and came to an unspecified settlement with the fan. As of this writing it has not been reported that fans in Boston will be launching their own law suit.
We can all agree that Madonna is an icon who helped made the great 80’s, great. But Madonna, it’s time to put your fans first. If not, Take A Bow could be your last, bow.
