Basically Penn and Kim Holderness are a creative, married couple who left the working man’s life of broadcast media to start their own business. According to newsobserver.com:
Penn spent six years as an evening anchor at WNCN/CBS 17 in Raleigh. After graduating, Kim worked as a local TV reporter in Florida before joining “Inside Edition” in New York for three seasons from 2004-2008.
What they create now is hysterical, relatable content on social media, using everyday life that couples experience, turning our relatable lives into hysterical song parodies and stories we can all relate and identify to. Their content is well produced and FAST. In this on-demand Google world, we don’t like to wait for anything, including a laugh.
It All Started With One Viral Video
After leaving TV news, The Holderness Family launched their unlikely career with just one simple video.
According to Wikipedia:
The Holderness Family first found fame in 2013 when they released “XMAS Jammies” – a parody of Will Smith‘s “Miami” meant to be their family’s digital Christmas card. Overnight, their video went viral on YouTube, garnering 15 million views in one week. They have been making videos ever since.
Not since Weird Al, have we seen a high quality parody video machine like the Holderness Family delivers. What’s better, they include their kids, Lola, and son, Penn Charles.
