Ringo Comes To Boston For the Best Care
Beatles drummer Ringo Starr knows where the STARR hospitals are, all the way from the UK. Ringo comes to Boston for the best care. I’ll share which hospital in a moment.
2001 Visit With George Harrison
In a interview with Far Out Magazine, I found Ringo sharing his thoughts on his 82nd birthday this week, which was 7-7. Ringo Starr remembered the last words he shared with former band mate George Harrison. He was VERY ill from cancer. Sadly, it was considered George’s last days alive. George could only stay in bed, and could barely move. Ringo decided to visit him at his home in Switzerland. As Ringo was ending the visit with his longtime friend, he mentioned to George that he was off to Boston to see his daughter who had a brain tumor. Suffering from cancer himself, George actually said to Ringo, would you like me to go with you? According to the interview, Ringo said, sharing this story wiping tears from his eyes, that’s the kind of man George was.
Ringo Comes To Boston For the Best Care-Lee Starkey
In 1995, Ringo’s daughter Lee Starkey was diagnosed with a brain tumor while living in the UK. She was quickly transferred to Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital for surgery and continued treatment. I’m very happy to hear that her surgery was successful. Only six years later Lee had a relapse, bringing her back to Boston for yet another surgery. Gladly, it was successful. Today, thanks in large part to Brigham and Women’s Lee lives a normal, and healthy life, for a daughter of a Beatle!
