You'd think being a hero would get you out of standardized testing.
Finn Conner was leaving a Celtics game at TD Garden with his father, Ryan, Friday night when he heard cries of distress as they were walking toward Charlestown.
Finn didn't hesitate and ran toward the cries.
"It wasn't so much a decision. It was what happened at the moment," he told CBS news. "I just thought it was the right thing to do."
So here's how it went down.
Last Friday night he and his dad had just left the Celtics-Bulls game at TD Garden. They were walking toward Charlestown about to cross the bridge when he heard a man call for help.
That's when the Swampscott senior saw someone trying to save an unconscious man from drowning in the water.
"I run down the bank, I wade out into the water, maybe five or ten feet out, and I just sort of grab him to support him just trying to pull him to the shore," Finn told CBS. . "It was difficult it's such a tricky spot right there because the rocks are so slippery,"
Finn's dad, Ryan Conner, couldn't believe his son sprang into action so quickly.
"Because he's significantly faster than me he was already in the water before I got to the bank. I could see them dragging this kid in who looked lifeless to me at the time," Ryan Conner said.
Finn helped lay the bleeding man on the ground and noticed his was in a bad shape.
No one is sure how the man fell into the river, but because of Finn's quick action and first responders, the victim is recovering. But this has happened before.
Fewer than 12 hours after playing superman, Finn Conner was taking his SATs Saturday morning, according to his mom.
