About 20 percent of people have dimples.

But a new Tik Tok trend is about to change that.

Nature's Cheeky Little Surprise

Ever wondered why some folks have those adorable craters on their cheeks?

Dimples, those little pockets of cuteness, are caused by  an anatomical variation of a facial muscle called the zygomaticus major. It's sort of like a cute muscle hiccup. They're most commonly found on the cheeks, but you can score 'em on chins too. When some folks smile, the muscle called  shortens and tugs on the skin, creating these cheeky dents.

It's like Mother Nature's playful jab.

How common are they?

Well, around 20% of people worldwide are blessed with them. The lottery of genetics is the boss here. If your parents had 'em, you're in luck! But hey, don't worry if you're dimple-deprived. You're still a star in your own right.

Now, let's talk celebs. Dimples are like a red carpet event on your face! Just ask Harry Styles, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Garner and Priyanka Chopra. They add charm and charisma, making you the life of the party without even trying.

Why do we find them so attractive? Well, it's like a magnet for our hearts. They scream "I'm friendly and approachable!" Dimples turn a simple smile into a swoon-worthy masterpiece. They're the cherries on top of the cuteness sundae.

Dimples are nature's way of saying, "You're cute, so let's dimple and shine!"

So you want them?

No problem.

GIVING yourself dimples is the hot new trend on TikTok.

It's called Dimpleplasty!

People are buying something  "dimple makers" that are supposed to create dimples in your cheeks. on Etsy.  (Here's a photo.)

They come in pairs.  Each one is a loop of metal with a bead on each end.  You slip them around the corners of your mouth.  The beads pinch your cheeks from the outside and inside, and create little dents.

And they work!

They work by compressing the fat in your cheeks and pushing it outward.

It's temporary unless you constantly use them.

There are risks.

If they're too tight or you wear them too long, it could restrict blood flow, kill the underlying fat, and create scar tissue.  There's also an outside chance it could cause nerve damage in your face.

Chris Evans and the Other Massachusetts Men Who Have Made People’s Sexiest Man Alive List!

Chris Evans and the Other Massachusetts Men Who Have Made People's Sexiest Man Alive List!

Massachusetts' Chris Evans is 2022's Sexiest Man Alive, according to People magazine.

But the question is, how many have received the honor?

The truth is, it's not a lot. But it's not too shabby.

Before we get to the list however, can we discuss how QUESTIONABLE People's Sexiest Man Alive list is?

I mean, Johnny Depp made the list TWICE.

That dude is a dumpster fire with guitar pick and an inflated sense of self.

(Side note: Depp is touring with master guitar icon Jeff Beck. It's a crime against humanity. This is a classic example of people employed by rich people who ACTIVELY lie to them.)

Anyway, back to the questionable list.

The OG sexiest man alive, Mel Gibson, turned out to be a whackadoo anti-semite who called a female cop "sugar t*ts" while he was being pulled over for drunk driving. Oh, he also threatened the mother of his child.

So that ended badly.

Brad Pitt won TWICE. Also a bit of a hot mess these days. But, let's be honest. He's still good looking.

My favorites? Idris Elba and Hugh Jackman. Idris because he's is unquestionably GOOD LOOKING and Jackman because he's Wolverine, a song-and-dance man AND married to an older woman.

Anwyay, Evans, who grew up Sudbury, said his mother, Lisa, is most proud of the honor.

Chris told "People":

"My mom will be so happy.  She's proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about." He added, quote, "This whole thing is tough to be interviewed about.  It feels like a weird form of humble bragging.  Really this will just be a point of bullying [from friends].  It's ripe for harassment."

But at least he'll always have this, even when he's not so sexy anymore.

"It's something that as I become old and saggy I can look back on and say 'I remember then.'  I'm lucky to be in the discussion in any capacity."

Here are the Massachusetts guys who were good looking enough to make the cut.

Ben Affleck

2002 saw Affleck hit the highs and lows. He made "Gigli" which was laughable. But he met Jennifer Lopez. And was crowned Sexiest Man Alive!

Two years later, he called off their engagement. But almost 20 year later, they are happily married! And he's still pretty sexy.

Matt Damon

2007 was a good year for Matt, earning the honor the year he made "Oceans 11" and "The Bourne Ultimatum" and coming off of 2006 hits "The Good Shephard" and "The Departed".

Chris Evans

Here he is with the Sexiest Man Alive circa 2016:

Richard Gere

Yeah, I know he's from Syracuse, NY, but he went to UMASS Amherst on a gymnastics scholarship and studied philosophy, so that counts for something.
