Cut Your Risk Of Early Death By 24% By Doing This
If you want to increase your life significantly than you should be doing this a lot more. The good news is that it’s very easy to do but most of us choose not to. What is it that cuts your risk of early death by 24%? Simply stated, use the stairs.
Let’s be honest, we all know that taking the stairs is a much healthier option than the elevator. The hard part is getting started and making it a habit. Like anything else, the decision to take the stairs is not as easy as it sounds. Perhaps we’re busy, or maybe the elevator is more convenient, but the benefits of passing up the elevator, and taking the stairs, could have long-term consequential benefits.
The easy steps to take to avoid an early death
Who would have thought that elevators were so dangerous? We thought the most scary thing about them was either being trapped in one or heaven forbid, they break and down you go. Nope, it’s not either of those, it’s the action of choosing them over stairs.
A new study found elevators might be KILLING us, and not just when they fall.
Researchers looked at the health records of almost half-a-million people. And the ones who regularly opted to take the STAIRS instead of an elevator were far less likely to die young.
It wasn’t a small difference either. They were 39% less likely to die from cardiovascular disease, and 24% less likely to die from any cause.
Quote, “Our study suggested that the more stairs climbed, the greater the benefits. [So] whether at work, home, or elsewhere, take the stairs.”
So, on your way to work or wherever you spend your days, look for the staircase door and head on up. It can be a very rewarding habit to start, and if you work above let’s say 5 floors, maybe you can take the elevator up and get off and still take the stairs the rest of the way.
