Geronimo! Watch a Skydiving Instructor Save a Freefalling Student
Geronimo!
Watch an instructor save a free-falling sky dive student. We are not talking about the late great Tom Petty’s “Free Falling”. This is the real deal an almost tragic sky dive.
Two weeks ago, we reported that a 104-year-old woman broke the record for being the oldest to ever skydive. A week later we announced that a 103 year-old woman, who also at one point held the record, for the oldest skydiver had passed away.
We are both proud of these women and at the same time very curious. Afterall, what makes somebody who has lived over 100 years want to skydive out of a perfectly fine airplane? Is it because they’ve lived long enough and are not scared of death any longer?
I will stay on the airplane, thank you!
Because for people more than half of these ladies age, it would be the last thing they would want to do. The old adage is “why jump out of a perfectly fine plane?
I have always agreed with those sentiments myself. For me to jump out of an airplane, they would have to be a literal pot of gold waiting on the ground. Or a life or death situation. And this is exactly what the video is all about.
Do you have the jumping gene?
I have to believe that people who love skydiving have to have a certain gene that most of us are not born with. What makes jumping out of an airplane thousands of feet in the sky seem like a fun way to spend the day? After watching this video, I’m convinced that I didn’t get the “jumping gene” and am Ok with that!
This instructor deserves an A++++
This happened back in July, but the video is making the rounds now. A skydiving instructor wearing a helmet cam filmed the moment he had to save a student who was in a freefall and needed help.
He had to get close enough to grab the student’s harness and steady her, and that allowed her to right herself, and the pull the ripcord.
