The Greediest Place on Earth? Disney Raises Ticket Prices Again
Disney raises ticket prices again, making the Happiest Place on Earth the greediest.
This is NOT what Walt Disney had in mind.
Imgaine planning the ultimate family trip – Disney! You’ve save the money. You can see it all: strolling through the Magic Kingdom, soaking in the parade, the laughter, even your kid having a meltdown after the Dumbo Ride. Suddenly, you’re hit with the reality check of Disney’s latest ticket price hike. And let me tell you, it’s not a pretty sight.
A trip to Walt Disney World will get even more expensive next year.
The park is raising ticket prices in 2025, by roughly $5 to $10 over current prices. 2024 ticket prices remain unchanged, at least for now. Price hikes are becoming a regular thing at Disney parks – they’ve been increased multiple times since 2022.
For example, some late-August weekday tickets at Disney’s Animal Kingdom have gone from $109 for 2024 tickets to $119 for 2025.
Other single-day tickets for different parks during different periods are also showing increases over many 2024 prices.
“The lowest-priced one-day ticket to Disney’s Florida theme parks is up $10 in 2025, to $119 from this year’s $109,” themeparkinsider.com reported. “That one-day ticket long has been considered the benchmark for Walt Disney World pricing, despite the fact that almost no one buys it anymore. Walt Disney World’s ticket prices vary by park and date, and – for what it’s worth – the most expensive one-day, one-park ticket remains unchanged in 2025, at $189.
Sure, it seems like a minimal change, but they’ve been at it for a LONG time.
Disney World’s ticket prices have been on a rollercoaster ride themselves.
Over the years, they’ve shot up faster than Space Mountain, leaving families scrimping and saving just to wait in line for two hours to see Luke Skywalker.
Let’s break it down, shall we? A family of four looking to spend a week in Disney? It’s FANTASY LAND. ? Get ready to cough up more cash than Scrooge McDuck’s money bin. We’re talking upwards of thousands of dollars just for tickets, not even counting accommodation, food, and souvenirs.
And don’t even get me started on those overpriced churros!
Reminder: a ticket to Disney World the year it opened in 1971 was $3.50. Which is worth $26.65 today.
It’s criminal how Disney’s pricing out the very people who dream of experiencing the magic. For most families, a trip to Disney World is becoming as elusive as finding Nemo.
Instead of focusing on spreading joy to all, Disney seems more interested in padding their already overflowing coffers. They’ve gone from the happiest place on earth to the greediest place on earth faster than you can say “bibbidi-bobbidi-boo.”
So, yeah, finding out that a day at Disneyland for my family of three was going cost a whopping $787? Worse feeling since a ride on Alice’s Tea Cups after horking down some fried dough.
It’s about time Disney took a step back and remembered who they’re supposed to be making magic for: families.
