In Praise Of Puerto Rican Weddings
In praise of Puerto Rican weddings
Two weeks ago my wife and I attended a wedding in Puerto Rico for her cousin’s daughter. The groom was born and raised in Puerto Rico. In an area of the island called Ponce. The groom was born and raised in Puerto Rico. This is why I am in praise of Puerto Rican weddings.
I have been to Puerto Rico on a couple of other occasions to play golf and visit Old San Juan. P.R. is a beautiful island with super friendly people. The weather was fantastic every time I have gone. It was always sunny in in the 80s for the four days we were there for the wedding.

We Bostonians love to get away from the cold, New England weather, and into the sun. So that might explain why it was a nonstop party.
The Puerto Rican wedding was amazing
The groom’s side of the family has run a rum business for over 150 years. And they built a castle overlooking the town of Ponce many years ago. This was where the wedding reception was held. Located high above the city in the rolling hills with the city lights below it was quite a sight to behold.
The food was incredible, Featuring to hold hogs on the spit. And other various beans and rice, dishes with other pork and chicken. It was not a place for a vegetarian wedding attendee.

The Castle where the wedding was held
Because the family owns a rum distillery you can only imagine how the drinks flowed. And that was enough to get the dance floor rocking.
The absolute highlight of the evening was when a seven piece, Puerto Rican band, crash, the party with trumpets, blaring and drums banging. They took over the dance floor with two people dressed in exotic costume toward away the evil spirits. I recommend this for all weddings!
Puerto Rican wedding party!
I’m not sure if you’ll ever have the opportunity to go to a Puerto Rican wedding, but if you do get the invitation, please except it. You will have no regrets
