A long time nude beach goer has some advice for newcomers

If you ever find yourself at a NUDE BEACH, be aware there are some unwritten rules you'll want to follow.  Someone talked to an 81-year-old woman who's been a nudist for over 30 years.

Here are her top five things you should never do at a nude beach.

1.  Don't park your chair or blanket too close to anyone.

Just like a regular beach, leave some room.  It's even more important when everyone's naked. You never want to appear to be a creeper at the beach with the sole purpose of being a "lurker". You must respect people's space more than ever when at nude beach, unless it's packed, then you should find a spot that is far enough away from the next nudie.

2.  No gawking.  Make sure you don't stare at anyone too long.

And if you strike up a conversation with a stranger, maintain eye contact. This is going to be very hard, because by nature you are automatically drawn to look at a person's body, but try really hard to focus on the face. You should be able to walk away from a nude conversation knowing the color of that person's eyes.

3.  Don't talk about anyone's body.

Even if you think it's a compliment, it's not something you're supposed to do. It may be difficult to keep your lips zipped but this is not the time or place to compliment someone on anything about their body, except maybe their eyes.

4.  If you're there with someone, no PDA.

Anything that even resembles sexual activity is frowned upon. This is not the time to get "handsy", nobody wants to see you and your sweetie getting to touchy at the beach. Keep your hands to yourself and wait till you head home for all that hanky panky.

5.  Don't take pictures.

Or if you do . . . like a selfie at sunset . . . make sure it's obvious no one's in the background.  (CNN) Let's be real here, we don't go anywhere or do anything these days without photographic proof that it happened, but let's focus the lens on nature, not human nature. Nobody wants to photographed by strangers in most places, especially at a nude beach.

Lastly, remember if things get too hot to handle for you, be sure to dunk yourself in the ocean, that should cool things down, especially here in the Northeast!

The Bare Necessities: The Rising Popularity of Nude Beaches

Hold on to your swimsuits! The world of sunbathing has taken a cheeky turn!

Yes, you heard it right—nude beaches are all the rage across the globe.  Yup, people are starting to embrace the philosophy of "less is more" when it comes to their beach attire.

In a surprising twist, even the most reserved nations have jumped on board the au naturel bandwagon. Who would have thought?

According to CBS News, "It's been a banner year for nudity around the globe."

And let's not forget Europe!

The continent has always had a special affinity for the au naturel lifestyle. From the classic beaches of France to the stunning coastlines of Greece, Europeans have been perfecting the art of sunbathing in their birthday suits for years.

It's as if they've mastered the art of combining haute couture and a complete lack thereof.

So, whether you're a daring trendsetter or just someone who doesn't like tan lines, it seems the world is opening up to the idea of nudist-friendly beaches.

Just remember to bring plenty of sunscreen, because nobody wants a sunburn in a sensitive area. Let's face it, the world is slowly realizing that sometimes, the best way to enjoy the beach is to let it all hang out, figuratively and literally.
