Governor Charlie Baker has extended the order that keeps Massachusetts schools closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Previously ordered to stay closed until April 6th, public and private schools in the Bay State will now be closed until at least May 4th, 2020.
“This will allow school districts to provide the best possible opportunities for remote learning for all students,” Baker said in a press conference, reiterating that the closure is not a vacation.
This closing extension also affects all non-emergency childcare programs.
