It was a tough first period for the Bruins last night against the Coyotes. B’s couldn’t score on a four minute power play, then gave up two quick goals to fall behind 2-0 after the first  period. Something woke them up after the first period intermission and a different team emerged in the second period.

The Bruins scored four straight goals in that second stanza and went on to a 4-3 win for their third straight victory. Danton Heinen got the B’s on the board and then David Pastrnak tied it with his 21st of the year. Brad Marchand then scored twice to put the B’s up 4-2. Arizona made it 4-3, but Tuukka Rask shut them down the rest of the way.

Pastrnak and Marchand, the B’s top two goal scorers, were playing with David Krejci, who is filling in for injured center Patrice Bergeron. All Krejci did was earn thee assists and play strong defense in his best game of the year! The line combined for 3 goals and six assists on the night.
