4 Shows to Stream – Must See TV This Week

In the grand scheme of things, there are only a handful of activities that can truly be labeled as “time well spent.” And let me tell you, my friends, streaming television series is right up there at the top of the list. Why? Because binge-watching is not just a hobby; it’s a lifestyle, a philosophy, and quite possibly, the secret to happiness.

Remember the dark ages when we had to wait a whole week for the next episode of our favorite shows? It was a cruel world, my friends. But fear not, for the era of instant gratification is upon us! Thanks to streaming, we can now kick back, relax, and indulge in an endless buffet of TV goodness. No more waiting; just press play and let the binge-fest begin.

And let’s not forget the pioneers of binge-worthy television – the shows that paved the way for our current glorious state of non-stop entertainment. Breaking Bad, the tale of a chemistry teacher turned methamphetamine maestro, hooked us from the first cook. Then came Stranger Things, with its blend of ’80s nostalgia and supernatural intrigue, making us crave Eggo waffles and demogorgon showdowns.

But the binge-watch revolution didn’t stop there. Oh no, it continued with The Crown, giving us a regal insight into the lives of the British monarchy, and Black Mirror, a series so mind-bending it left us questioning the very fabric of reality. These shows didn’t just entertain; they revolutionized the way we consume television.

So, why is streaming the best way to spend the week? Simple – it’s a one-way ticket to a world where waiting is a thing of the past, and the only schedule you need to worry about is the next episode autoplaying in 15 seconds. Grab your snacks, settle into your favorite spot, and let the binge-watching therapy session begin. Your week just got a whole lot better, my friends.

Here are my recommendations:

  • 1. Nyad

Annette Bening and Jodie Foster bring it all in Nyad on Netflix. It’s the true story of athlete Diana Nyad who, at the age of 60 and with the help of her best friend and coach, commits to achieving her life-long dream: a 110-mile open ocean swim from Cuba to Florida. It’s brutal and honest and dang, those women are warriors!

  • 2. The Crown

The British are coming, the British are coming. Yes, The Crown is back on Netflix with its 6th and final season. The first four episodes air this Thursday and the final six on Dec. 14. This season will feature the death of Diana and the next generation of royals with the marriage of Will and Kate.

  • 3. Julia

Seriously, anything Sarah Lancashire does is simply the best. (If you haven’t binged “Happy Valley” stop reading this and go watch that.) The first season of “Julia” was so much fun, I can’t imagine the HBO series will disappoint. It premieres  Thursday and follows Child’s  TV career  and her work on the second volume of “Mastering the Art of French Cooking.”

  • 4. Blackberry

I love a “rise and fall” story and “Blackberry” looks like it will deliver. The 3-parter  stars Cary Elwes (Princess Bride), Glenn Howerton (Always Sunny in Philadelphia) premieres Monday at 10 p.m. on AMC. All three episodes will be available Monday on AMC+.
