Tonight, CBS features a Marlboro dog on Dolly Pardon's 'Pet Gala'. Push over David Letterman's Stupid Pet Tricks. There's a new star in town.

Dolly Pardon's 'Pet Gala'

It seems like things all classic, are cool again. Other than the occasional pet trick on X Factor, we really don't get much love for our pets on broadcast television any more. If you don't count those sad Sara McLachlan commercials, you have to find Animal Planet to get your fur baby love on our TV. Yes, Letterman was on to something with Stupid Pet Tricks.

Well, leave to the iconic Dolly Parton to right some wrongs, and put our pets back into the spotlight. Get ready for an actual pet fashion show, with an actual runway featuring the latest pet fashions. According to CBS:

Doggy Parton and CBS present "Dolly Parton's Pet Gala," a two-hour variety special featuring exclusive performances by music's biggest stars, and a one-of-a-kind runway revealing the best in doggy fashion, featuring Parton's most iconic looks as well as embellished looks from Dolly's Doggy Parton pet line.

The show's stars won't only be the four legged kind. Also on hand are YOUNG SHELDON's Iain Armitage, Drew Barrymore, Kristen Bell, Kristin Chenoweth, Margaret Cho, Neil Patrick Harris, Carson Kressley, Jim Nantz and Jessica Simpson. I will guess they will bring the real stars, their pets!

It's true! Massachusetts is represented tonight on the show. According to metrowestdailynews.com:

Lala, an 8-year-old Pomeranian from Marlborough, will appear with Parton and other celebrity guests on "Dolly Parton's Pet Gala," a two-hour variety special airing at 9 p.m. EST today on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.

Lala is a dog influencer. (Yes, that's a thing.) Lala is such a big star, she has her own agent. Lala's owner Linda Butler-White, told the Daily News that she actually got to meet Dolly Parton, and spent four days in Nashville filming the show.

There's something truly special about having a close relationship with your pet. They say a dog is "man's best friend," and it's totally accurate. I have friends and family who truly feel like their pets are a member of the family. Pets will be there for you through thick and thin. Pets are also know for being loyal, which can be a really good feeling in this world. So, what are the most popular dogs right now?

Danspetcare.com has a great article out that names the most popular dogs in the world right now. In it, they describe that special relationship that one has with their pet. "From hunting to sled-pulling to herding and protection, dogs have helped us survive and thrive in countless ways," they explain. "One of the most important roles dogs play in our lives is companionship."

So, what do you do if you're in the market for a new dog? Danspetcare.com has some good advice on how to pick the right breed. They explain that finding the right breed is a big part of that decision. So, ask yourself, do you want a delicate breed or a more meaty, masculine breed? Also, what's the purpose of you wanting a pet? Do you want a pet for protection, or are you looking for a small buddy for some companionship?

Either way, when you're in the market for a new pet, make sure to have lots of questions and ask the right people before settling on your little guy or gal. I remember one of my friends buying the cutest little puppy ever only to see it grow into a huge dog that was almost too big for her apartment.
