Massachusetts Actor Lands ‘Fantastic’ Marvel Role
When a Massachusetts actor lands a Marvel role, people notice. You may not know his name. But his face may make you hungry.
Massachusetts actor Ebon Moss Bachrach plays the riveting and unappreciated Richard “Richie” Jerimovich in the FX television show The Bear. But did you know he grew up in Amherst? With the last name of Bachrach, we should not be surprised that his parents run a music school.
Ebon Moss-Bachrach was born in Amherst and is the son of Renee Moss and Eric Bachrach, who run a music school in Springfield, Massachusetts.
The Bear
If you love wonderful well written TV, or if you work in a restaurant you have to watch The Bear on Hulu or FX. The plotline takes place in a Chicago family owned diner. When the owner Mike Berzatto dies, he leaves the restaurant to his younger brother, Carmy played by Jeremy Allen White. Carmy, just happens to be a gifted big city chef. It’s basically the George Bailey story. Carmy has to give up his promising future for his small-time family restaurant. Add in cousin Richie played by Moss-Bachrach. Richie is a train wreck about to to fly off the rails. Yet he seems to always end up as an unsung hero when needed the most, keeping the train on the track.

For his work in The Bear, he was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, as well as receiving a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor – Series, Miniseries or Television Film and three nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Even though he’s a supporting actor he owns every scene he’s in and steals the show. But it doesn’t end there.
Massachusetts Actor Lands Marvel Role
Ebon just landed the role in Marvel’s Fantastic Four. He will play Ben Crim’s alter ego, The Thing. Joining Ebon will be Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, “Mr. Fantastic,” Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storms’ “Invisible Woman” and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storms’ “Human Torch.”
The Fantastic Four will be released next year.
