Rotten Tomatoes Ranks The Top 12 Movies Of The Past 25 Years

In recognition of Rotten Tomatoes' 25th anniversary  critics voted on the Top 12 films of the last 25 years. It is amazing to think that some of these movies are now a quarter of a century old. Some of them can be seen rerunning daily on your cable or streaming service because they have stood the test of cinema time.

The best reasons we watch these great movies over and over is because they are highly rated on the website rotten tomatoes. The concept behind the website and its ranking system is unique. Movies are ranked on audience reviews not some lofty critic in New York or Hollywood telling us whether or not we should see it.

Before the rotten tomatoes system of ranking movies based on the public’s feelings of them. We would rely on critics like Siskel and Ebert, who would simply talk about the movies on their weekly show.  They would give the movie either a thumbs up or thumbs down. That was all we needed. They've been gone a long time and the internet was in its infancy when their show went off the air.

Set in a dystopian future where humanity is embroiled in a catastrophic blight and famine, the film follows a group of astronauts who travel through a wormhole near Saturn in search of a new home for humankind. Again, if it's directed by Chris Nolan, it's going to be good.
