This time it’s for good. Today, Dunkin’ Donuts is officially bringing back the Butter Pecan Swirl permanently. Dunkin’ shared the exciting news via a press release earlier this month, but the flavor is available starting today.
Guests can now add the Butter Pecan Swirl to any coffee-related drinks. It is described as a flavor that “features notes of butter roasted pecan and sweet cream.” The Butter Pecan Swirl first came to the menu in 2013. Since then, it has been a seasonal offering. Dunkin notes that it has been in high demand, with only the pumpkin spice requested more. Apparently, passionate coffee enthusiasts even created petitions and social media groups in a rally effort to get the butter pecan option back. This seemed to clearly get Dunkin’s attention.
“On the 10-year anniversary of Butter Pecan Swirl’s debut, we knew it was time to make this adored flavor a core menu staple,” said Jill McVicar Nelson, Dunkin’s Chief Marketing Officer. “The requests from guests and our Dunkin’ teammates to make this Swirl a regular offering are staggering. We’re thrilled to finally grant their wish, making this a permanent delight for Dunkin’ fans to savor all year long.”
For Dunkin’ customers who still can’t get enough Butter Pecan in their lives, there’s apparently more sweet news on the way. Though it has not been revealed by the company yet, a butter pecan donut is a common combination. It’s typically a buttery glazed plain donut topped with crushed nuts.
Pecan To The Rescue
Fans were disappointed last month when the popular coffee chain announced the Dunkaccino was being retired. Many locations also started implementing a new brew tap system around this time. In a press statement, Dunkin’ stated, “As we focus on innovation and finding new ways to delight guests, we continually evolve our menu in an effort to deliver a fast, frictionless experience.”
They certainly held true to their promise of delighting guests. Available today, Dunkin is bringing back permanently the Butter Pecan Swirl.
