‘Bill & Ted 3’ To Hit Video On Demand and Theaters At The Same Time
Big film studios are figuring out how to get their movies out in the new post-coronavirus landscape. This morning, Orion Pictures announced that the long-awaited Bill and Ted: Face The Music will be released in select theaters and on-demand on the same day: September 1. They made the announcement as they released the film’s second trailer (watch it below).
In Bill & Ted 3, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter reprise their roles as Theodore “Ted” Logan and William “Bill” S. Preston, (“esquire!”) to travel through time in their phone booth. They are adults and they enlist the help of their daughters in a wild adventure to — of course — save the world. This is the followup to the second Bill & Ted flick, 1991’s Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey.
Bill & Ted 3: Face The Music was originally set to open in theaters on Aug. 21, but has moved its opening date several times. Most recently, it was set for Aug. 28. It’s still unclear what theaters will be open on September 1.
