Paul Rudd is the latest actor to join the cast of Ghostbusters 2020, which is a continuation of Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II from the 1980s.
According to Variety, Rudd will play a teacher in the film, but no other plot details have been released. Ghostbusters 2020 director Jason Reitman, the son original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman, said in a statement on Rudd’s casting, “I’ve been wanting to work with Paul Rudd since my short film opened for ‘Wet Hot American Summer’ at Sundance. I’m thrilled he’ll be joining this new chapter in the original Ghostbusters universe.”
The only other members of the cast that have been made public are Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things) and Mckenna Grace (Gifted.) Sigourney Weaver has been rumored to reprise the role of Dana Barrett, but nothing has been confirmed.
A teaser trailer (below) for Ghostbusters 2020 was released in January.
