Watch The Super Bowl At THESE Super Fun Boston Bars

It’s almost game day! Don’t feel like hosting, and neither does anyone else on your “team”? Put on your pads (ok, coat), fly out the door and touch down at any of these super fun Boston bars to watch the Super Bowl. And thanks to the Thrillist for providing some great suggestions of fun bars in the Boston area to watch the big game. There’s something for everyone from dive bars to slightly swankier sports destinations. or some great suggestions!

Boston is the best sports city in America, and we’ll be the first to tell you that! The Thrill List  says, ” If you are looking to join the masses of Massachusetts sports fans and share in their cheers, jeers, and tears, it shouldn’t be any surprise that you’ll find many of Boston’s best sports bars in close-proximity to the iconic Fenway Park and the famed Garden.”

Of course, any home town will have a place to gather and feel like you are part of professional sports’ biggest day. So what if we don’t have players in the game, whether you are rooting for the Chiefs or the Eagles, we are here for the party. For the big game, or any game, the Thrillist recommends these super fun Boston bars (in alphabetical order).

 

  • Banners Kitchen and Tap

    80 Causeway St. Boston, MA

    When you want to go big, go Banners. You’ll find it in the heart of sports action, and actually in the former location of the Boston Garden (before it moved a few blocks over). It’s an impressive 25,000-square-foot restaurant and bar. Banners “accompanies a food hall, music venue, and movie theater, all part of a new 1.75 million-square-foot buildout attached to North Station.”

     

  • The Banshee

    934 Dorchester Ave. Boston 

    This bar is so Boston. Nestled in the heart of Dorchester, the Banshee is more intimate, but big on fun…and sports! It’s a neighborhood vibe. Also a top destination for international sports.

  • The Bleacher Bar

    82A Lansdowne St, Boston, MA

    As The Thrillist points out, “To really get inside the action, hit up Bleacher Bar, a sports bar tucked under the bleachers inside Fenway Park. While the one-of-a-kind view and behind-the-scenes experience at Bleacher Bar is best enjoyed on a Red Sox game day, the space is open 363 days a year”

  • Cask 'n Flagon

    62 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA

    Another Fenway hotspot, and iconic Boston bar. At Cask ‘n Flagon you can watch the game from one of the 60 TVs while noshing on comfort pub grub.

  • Cathedral Station

    1222 Washington St, Boston, MA 

    According to The Thrillist, Cathedral Station “Located in Boston’s bustling South End, you’ll find the city’s first out-and-proud gay sports bar. Cathedral Station is decked out with dartboards, a pool table, and an exquisite patio perfect for al fresco sport viewing.”

  • Coolidge Corner Clubhouse

    307 Harvard St. Brookline, MA

    Homey and neighborhoody, The Thrillist raves,” Red patent leather booths, glass dividers, gold railings, and sport photos give off that classic homey, old time-y pub feel, while elevated, updated comfort food and carefully placed TVs keep this neighborhood favorite bustling day in and day out.”

  • Game On

    82 Lansdowne St, Boston, MA

    Equipped with “an aresenal of TVs,” The Thrillist reports this bar, built into Fenway Park’s centerfield wall, offers 16 artisanal pizza options, and a basement “outfitted with six spacious pingpong suites, a cornhole court, and access to the official batting cage of the Boston Red Sox.” Game on!

  • The Greatest Bar

    262 Friend St, Boston, MA

    According to The Thrillist, this hot spot promises to not just be a bar, but an experience. They say, “The Greatest Bar is a four-floor sports and nightlife destination. A 14-foot television remains the focal point on game days, but the venue is also well-known for skeeball, DJs, and dancing.

  • Parlor Sports

    1 Beacon St, Somerville, MA

    “Parlor is smaller than your typical Boston sports bar, but if there’s a game on, it’s on here—and if it’s not, you can request it and they’ll try to put it on the TV closest to you,” according to the Thrillist. They also share that this gem of a bar serves up “comfort food, craft beers, and even classic cocktails, and the staff is sports-smart and friendly. A drop-down boxing mic falls from the ceiling if a bartender wants to make an announcement, and an antique boxing bell often gets rung if something epic goes down. Even on the off nights, Parlor finds ways to intrigue its customers with other games of chance, like their legendary, spirited, and irreverent viewings of The Bachelor.”

     

  • Phoenix Landing

    512 Massachusetts Ave. Cambridge, MA

    This is the place to be for all things sports…especially European Sports. But you can bet Super Bowl Sunday will be super fun here. As, The Thrillist recommends, “The Phoenix Landing is not only a traditional Irish bar, but it’s also one of the city’s go-to destinations when it comes to live televised European football and rugby matches. If there’s a game, it’s on. If it happens to be an early and important match, they’re open and most likely busy. Throughout the day you can expect their clientele to be clad in football jerseys cursing at all nine televisions in the space.”

  • Sporting Club

    450 Summer Street, Boston, MA

    You’ll find Sporting Club in the Seaport District, located in the Omni Hotel. They shared thatthey will be celebrating the big game with a slew of festivities. “A DJ sets the mood leading up to the game, which is shown with full volume on multiple big screens. A special food menu features specialty fare inspired from the competing cities, while a live band and another DJ set follow the game.”

  • Stats Bar and Grill

    77 Dorchester St, Boston, MA

    This South Boston neighborhood bar boasts an extensive, eclectic food and drink menu. “Stats is continually packed with loyal fans and customers making use of the 24 strategically positioned TVs.” (The Thrillist)

  • Sullivan's Tap

    168 Canal St, Boston, MA

    Did you know Sullivan’s is one of the last remaining bars that date back to the old Boston Garden? True story.  “Sullivan’s proximity to the home of the Celtics and Bruins makes it one of the rowdiest places to pregame, postgame, or watch the game without a ticket. Pool tables and video games and sports memorabilia only add to the spectacle, ” according the The Thrillist.

  • Tony C's

    (Various locations, see below)

    The Thrillist says that this larger than life bar, named to honor Revere native and Red Sox legend, Tony Conigliaro, is “a spacious restaurant and sports bar that almost feels like the size of a small stadium itself.” You’ll find Tony C’s in the Seaport, Assembly Square, Burlington, and Peabody.

  • Warehouse Bar & Grill

    40 Broad St, Boston, MA

    You’ll find Warehouse on the border of Faneuil Hall and the Financial District. And you’ll find plenty of delicous comfort food from burgers to tacos and beyond, plus inventive cocktails. The Thrillist raves, “the sleek, modern space provides the perfect backdrop for a game, and TVs situation along the bar and near the booths ensure you won’t miss any of the action no matter what size group you’re with.”

  • WynnBET Sports Bar at Encore Boston Harbor

    1 Broadway, Everett, MA

    Located inside Encore casino, The Thrillist declares, “Stepping into WynnBET Sports Bar is like walking onto the set of a television sports show with tables echoing the look of sportscasters’ sprawling desks. With a gigantic video wall and more than 70 televisions, this bar is a great place to leave one kind of game and watch another.”
