Sunday was a day to remember with the Tom Brady Patriots Tribute during halftime at Gillette. The dark cloud over our heads at Gillette started with heavy rain, fumbles and frustration. But by halftime, Mac Jones got his footing and brought the Pats within two points. But, in the end, the Super Bowl contender, Philadelphia Eagles rained on our parade. They defeated New England on the day their greatest player was to be honored, 25-20.
Fans Happy, Sad, Frustrated
Some were surprised that the Tom Brady tribute was not aired on CBS during the Patriots game. Some knew where to find it. But some became frustrated with the Patriots.com feed. It simply didn’t work for everyone on their phone, according to many complaining on Facebook.
For those that saw it, tears of a happy past, filled their eyes and hearts as they saw Tom Brady, wearing a Pat’s jersey, run across the field waving to adoring fans. It was a nice musical backdrop for the tribute to use Bon Jovi’s Who Says You Can’t Go Home.ย
Patriots Hall Of Fame-Robert Kraft
Kraft announced he will waive the policy and the five year wait for Tom to be inducted into the Patriots Hall Of Fame. According to Patriots.com, Kraft shared his continuous admiration for TB12:
“When Tom Brady announced his retirement after 23 NFL seasons, there was only one place I wanted him to be on opening day. That’s right here at Gillette Stadium, with 65,000 of his closest friends,” said Kraft when he addressed the crowd at halftime.
Kraft announced that the induction ceremony will be held the evening of June 12, 2024, the TWELVE, chosen for obvious reasons! The ceremony will be held INSIDE Gillette, for the first time to accommodate as many fans as possible.
Brady told CBS regarding his tribute at Gillette: “There’s no better place to be on opening day in the NFL.”
CBS Boston reported that they carried the Tom Brady tribute on Patriots 5th Quarter on TV38 after the game.
