Boston is bracing for a British invasion. This invasion is a welcome one, as Prince William and Princess Kate touch down in Boston for a royal visit this week. Starting Wednesday, the heir to the throne and his bride will be visiting various Boston area companies and dignitaries. It’s all to honor and celebrate their vision for a greener tomorrow, with their project “Earthshot.” According to Boston 25 News, Prince William founded the Earthshot Prize two years ago. Earthshot was set up to honor groundbreaking environmental solutions to the world’s issues. William was motivated to start this project by President John F Kennedy’s  1961 “Moon Shot” challenge. The Moon Shot Challenge launched space travel programs from the U.S.

There are many visits on the Royal agenda this week, crowning with a star-studded event at Boston’s MGM Music Hall at Fenway. Since the Royals are Coming to visit Boston this week,  below are some of the details of their trip here.   • Wednesday

    Wednesday is the Royal arrival day! This is the first overseas trip for the couple, since becoming Prince and Princess of Wales. They will be publicly welcomed to Boston on Wednesday, November 30. The Royals will spend three days here, fulfilling engagements centered around the Earthshot Prize, which is awarded on Friday night. They will also visit our city. According to Town and Country , the visit will begin Wednesday afternoon, where William and Kate will be welcomed to Boston by Mayor Michelle Wu and Ambassador Caroline Kennedy. The exact timeline isn’t clear, however, we do know it includes a visit by the Prince to the JFK Presidential Library and Museum with Ambassador Caroline Kennedy.

  • Kate Goes To Harvard

    As Town and Country reported, Kate will also see all the work being done on early childhood education, at the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University. 

  • City Hall and other Boston Landmarks Will Go Green

    To mark the start of Earthshot and the Royals visit, Boston will light up City Hall, and a few other landmarks, green. On Thursday the Prince and Princess  will learn about climate innovations at Greentown Labs in Somerville. Then, the Royals will travel to Chelsea to meet with a members of Roca, a non-profit organization that is helping at-risk young people, who are 16-24 years old.  

  • The Star Studded Celebration At MGM Music Hall at Fenway

    The Royal visit’s crowning moment happens on Friday evening at the new MGM Music Hall at Fenway. According to Boston 25 News there will be quite a few stars performing and presenting, along side The Prince and Princess of Wales.

    Musical performers include: 

    * Pop singer and Grammy Award winner Billie Eilish, and her creative partner, and brother, FINNEAS

    * Platinum selling pop artist and activist Ellie Goulding

    * R&B duo Chloe x Halle

    * Singer/songwriter and member of the Eurythmics, Annie Lennox

    Speakers and presenters include:

    * The Princess of Wales

    * Academy Award and Emmy Award winning actor Rami Malek

    * Comedian and Emmy Award winning actor Catherine O’Hara

    * Golden Globe and Emmy Award winning actor and activist Shailene Woodley
