Beer on draft

Cheers! September 7th is National Beer Day!

It is funny that whoever decides such things like National Day of “whatever” has chosen early September to celebrate beer. It's so big that now you can see the best beer for your zodiac sign according to astrologists. You would think they would’ve chosen maybe a day closer to the Fourth of July so we can celebrate our independence with a nice cold frosty beer. Or perhaps they could’ve chosen memorial day so we could honor our veterans and toast them for their ultimate sacrifice.

September is a fine month

September is a great month with a lot going for it. It’s traditionally back to school month. It is the unofficial ending of summer after Labor Day and it is the beginning of America’s favorite pastime football season.

It also offers many fun activities, such as apple picking and hitting the beach at least one last time before it gets too cold.

What’s in the stars?

People choose to either believe in astrology, or choose not to. Some of us, adhere to the beliefs, laid forth for them regarding their signs to this day. There are still quite a few people who read the daily horoscopes in order to get a feel for what to expect that day. Others use astrology to make lifetime decisions, such as whether or not to date somebody based on their sides and the compatibility of yours, but this takes it to a whole new level.

Brewing up your beer match

Who would’ve thought that your sign would also point to the type of beer that is best for you? The astrologers who have come up with this concept have tried to match zodiac personalities with what they perceive the beer’s attributes are.

We think they did a fine job! As you look for your zodiac sign and your matching beer, or you will notice that they derived the typical hallmarks of the various signs and the type of beer best suited for that particular zodiacal sign.

Let’s see what the beer horoscopes have on tap for you

Aries: Modelo.

Because you're not afraid of a fight, and Modelo partners with the UFC on the Fighting Chance Project that revitalizes gyms. Since the recent downfall of Bud Light, Modelo is now the number one beer in the U.S.A. That's a pretty big deal.

Taurus: Miller High Life.

Because you "love a good time and a fine bargain."It's not called the "Champagne of Beers" for no good reason. Miller is more than just a good bargain beer, it is a well crafted one that is very satisfying to most American beer drinkers.

Gemini: Budweiser

Because of some nonsense about Geminis being good liars, and Budweiser being good at marketing.  Like the Clydesdale horses and Budweiser frogs. Sorry to Geminis, but we would be lying if we said that Bud is not a great American classic lager. It was for most of us our first beer and it's hard to forget your first time.

Cancer: Blue Moon

Because cancers are "ruled by the moon."  And because cancers are nostalgic . . . baseball is nostalgic . . . and Blue Moon was the brainchild of a place called Sandlot Brewery at Coors Field in Denver. If you're having a Blue Moon be sure to have a nice orange slice to go along with it. Makes it so much better!

Leo: Corona.

Because it's Spanish for "crown," and Leo is the sign of royalty. Who doesn't enjoy an ice cold refreshing Corona with a lime wedge driven down inside the bottle neck? It is considered to be one of the signature beers of summer.

Michelob Ultra

Because Virgos are health-conscious.  And Michelob Ultra is so watered down, it's sometimes called the "Gatorade of beers." That all might be true but, Ultra was the first big time beer to focus on the low carb craze touting it's on 2.5 grams of carbohydrates. It's also the go to brand of beer for fans of the Keto lifestyle.

Libra: Pabst Blue Ribbon

Libras love fairness and equality, and PBR is loved by everyone from factory workers to hipsters. It's a great bargain beer for all signs so go ahead and order a bucket of PBR's you can't go wrong and you will save some cash!

Scorpio: Guinness.

Because Scorpios are mysterious, and Guinness has been very tight-lipped when it comes to their trade secrets. If you have never had a Guinness then what are you waiting for? You will be surprised by the lightness of the taste. Good for all signs and seasons.

Sagittarius: Sapporo

Because you're adventurous, and so was the guy who created it.  He left Japan in the 1860s at age 17 . . . which was forbidden back then . . . and studied brewing in Germany. Whenever you are at a great Japanese restaurant enjoying the tremendous food, be sure to order Sapporo to take your meal to another level.

Capricorn: Yuengling.

Because you're determined, and so was Yuengling when they stayed afloat in Prohibition by making "near beer" with basically no alcohol.  It is also the oldest brewery in America and has kept up with the times. A very smooth beer to enjoy from the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia, PA!

Aquarius: Stella Artois.

Because the tarot card for Aquarius is the "Star" card, and "Stella" means "star" in Latin. This Beer from Belgium has become very popular in the last few years. It has a nice crisp taste and is one of the best selling beers worldwide.

Pisces: Heineken

Because you like pleasing people.  And the guy who founded their ad department once said, "I don't sell beer, I sell enjoyment. This beer from Holland with the cool green bottle has been an import favorite since the late 1960's and is not slowing down anytime soon.
