Is Taylor doing halftime? This story maybe fluid, as these things change on a dime. As of this writing, reports broke that Taylor Swift will be performing the big game halftime show. Then more reports broke saying it’s not true.
According to People.com:
Despite frenzied rumors and a report that Taylor Swift is set to headline the Super Bowl LVII halftime show next year, PEOPLE has learned the pop superstar is not scheduled to perform at the game. News broke that Apple Music was taking over as the sponsor for the NFL’s Super Bowl halftime show. (This means Pepsi is out.)
After the sponsorship news was revealed, Swift’s fans kicked into overdrive. Why, they wondered if the Grammy winner, would be taking the stage next February. She works with Apple.
Variety.com says: it’s happening:
When the NFL announced at midnight ET that Apple Music is the new sponsor of the Super Bowl Halftime Show, the Swift-iverse went into overdrive: hense, Taylor Swift will be the performer: The announcement was made at midnight, Taylor releases her new music at midnight (er, like 99% of all major artists in the streaming age) and her new album is called “Midnights.”
Actually, there are actually many more-tangible reasons why Swift seems a likely front-runner for the Super Bowl Halftime Show. So, with an estimated 103 million viewers this year, it is the single largest platform for a music artist in the entire world. Consequently, three sources close to the situation tell Variety that it’s happening.
So, stay tuned! Let’s take a look at halftimes past!
