If you are paying attention to the news these days you might have heard that it's getting harder than ever to book an island getaway because of the sheer demand. If you're looking to getaway you should consider booking soon, especially if you plan on getting away this summer.

Where to go?

Travel experts have compiled a list of the Five Best Caribbean Islands to take a vacation based on everything from beauty to affordability to the native folk, quality of the resorts, restaurants, accessibility and the kindness of the locals.

There are dozens of islands in the Caribbean and they are almost all beautiful and worthy of a vacation stay, but some are better than others. I have been to only two that made the top five and I can say that they were both gorgeous, with long white beaches and fantastic resorts that were 'all inclusive" and offered so much to do.

There's nothing like the blue/green Caribbean water!

The biggest reason people love the Caribbean is the close proximity to the Mainland US, most are direct flights from Logan or just a quick hop out Miami, and if you book through the resort they will most likely offer transportation to and from the airport.

I prefer to use a travel agent, because it costs you nothing and they take care of so much of the booking process and they are very familiar with most of the islands and their resorts. If you stopped using an agent, I suggest you consider using one for your next trip. It's nice to have a person looking out for you from the booking to the return and they might have some secret promotions that they are aware of that you might not be or have access to.

Here are the Top Five Caribbean Islands to Play and Vaca!
