Throwback Thursday: My Many July 4th’s Along the Charles River

I’ve lived all over the country because of my work in radio, but I always made the effort to get back to visit family here in New England for Christmas as the 4th of July. Neither holiday would be the same anywhere else. A lot of Bostonians avoid the city like the plague on the 4th. Not me. I’ll sweat it out and wait the wait for the best fireworks display in America.

• One year a buddy of mine invited me up to the Pru where he worked to watch. Dummy didn’t realize we were on the wrong side and just saw reflections of the fireworks on the buildings.
