10 Perfect Rom-Coms To Watch This Valentine’s Day
Whether you’re spending Valentine’s Day with your significant other or with your gal pals, or maybe even alone at home, here’s a list of the top ten romantic comedies you should binge watch this February.
Friends With Benefits (2011)
You either have been in this type of relationship yourself or know a friend who had. You try to keep it casual, but we all know that just is never the case. Friends With Benefits starring Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake shows exactly what it’s like to try and keep it no strings attached.
10 Things I Hate About You (1999)
If you haven’t seen this yet, you’re missing out. Based on Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew”, 10 Things I Hate About You is about a pretty, popular teenage girl dealing with the reality that she can’t go on a date till her older sister does. This move stars none other than Heath Ledger and Julie Stiles. Not to mention Heath Ledger has a memorable song and dance number.
The Notebook (2004)
Need I say more? If you aren’t still crying about this movie from the first time you watched it, then it’s time to watch it again. And if you haven’t seen it yet, you live under a rock. The Notebook is the the Bible of love stories. I’m just waiting for a guy to like me the way Noah (Ryan Gosling) loves Allie (Rachel McAdams).
Dirty Dancing (1987)
We can all say what we want about this corny love story, but if we were at summer camp with Patrick Swayze as the dance instructor we’d act the same way too. Starring Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze, Dirty Dancing follows the romance of camper “Baby” as she falls in love with the camp’s dance instructor, Johnny Castle.
500 Days of Summer (2009)
500 Days of Summer gives a funny, but honest look at love and heartbreak as a hopeless romantic (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) falls in love with Summer (Zooey Deschanel) who doesn’t believe in true love. If you’re not into cheesy rom-coms then this offbeat love movie is the one for you.
My Best Friends Wedding (1997)
I mean is this not the love story we all hope for? Falling in love with your best friend? In My Best Friends Wedding Julia Roberts has to win her best friends heart back as he plans his wedding with Cameron Diaz. Keep your eyes out for the karaoke scene when Diaz is as relatable as it gets.
Longest Ride (2015)
All I’m saying is this is definitely a rom-com that is under the radar. College student Sophia (Britt Robertson) and former bull-riding champion Luke (Scott Eastwood) are in love, but conflicting ideals and life paths threaten to tear them apart. Will they have a love that lasts?
Little Black Book (2004)
If you haven’t snooped in your significant other’s past then you’ve definitely thought about it. In Little Black Book Stacey (Brittany Murphy) joins forces with her coworkers to learn about her boyfriend’s (Ron Livingston) past relationships. You always have to look under the hood, before you purchase the car.
Fever Pitch (2005)
Okay Boston, if this isn’t one of the most romantic movies to you then you don’t know what true love is. Follow Ben Wrightman (Jimmy Fallon) as he begins dating a pretty businesswoman (Drew Barrymore). Their romance is going well until the start of baseball season. It’s not another women that threatens their relationship, it’s an entire team.
Valentine’s Day (2010)
I mean come on, what’s Valentine’s Day without watching Valentine’s Day?
AND if Valentine’s Day just really isn’t your thing, then I absolutely recommend watching…
Isn’t It Romantic (2019)
New York architect Natalie works hard to get noticed at her job, but instead of designing the city’s next skyscraper, she’s delivering coffee. After getting knocked unconscious she wakes up to find herself living in her worst nightmare, a rom-com.
