FLASHBACK: Jason Bonham’s Drum Tribute to Late Father John Bonham
John Bonham would’ve turned 71 today (May 31), and while no one has ever really filled the void left by the Led Zeppelin drummer, his son, Jason, has proudly taken the reigns for years and has carried on his father’s legacy.
Jason has sat in for his father notably during Zeppelin’s performance at the 2007 Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert and in tribute with Heart in 2012 at the Kennedy Center Honors. However, let’s look back to a performance in 2009 when he sat in with his father.
As part of Guitar Center’s 21st Annual Drum Off, Jason played along with a recording of his father during a rousing performance of Zeppelin’s “Moby Dick.”
