This Kinks Reunion Business...

Ray...Dave...make up your minds!

Seemingly every year there’s buzz about The Kinks getting back together, and in 2018, the latest talk comes via Ray Davies in a recent interview with U.K.’s Channel 4 News where he says the band is making a new album.  However, it’s difficult to tell if he’s being sincere. You be the judge on whether he’s being cheeky or not.

Even if you don't remember the Kinks, you'll know the songs, from Lola to Waterloo Sunset. They've been covered so many times and have made Sir Ray Davies one of Britain's defining songwriters. (Click to subscribe for more Channel 4 News videos.

Of course, after this interview with Ray gained some traction, Dave Davies posted the following on Twitter.

Me and Ray have spoken about the possibility of us working on a new album. Ray has a few songs he wants to finish. I have 3 or 4 songs I've written with Ray. We've been talking about it for some time now. We haven't discussed shows or anything else at the moment.

Is this will they/won’t they business annoying?  Yes, but at least they’re not opening fighting in the press anymore.  So...progress? Yeah, we’ll go that.
