Why can’t we just stick to the originals?

What could be better than the original Lays potato chip? There’s nothing like its plain, tasty crunch and salty flavor with a cold soda to wash it down.


It seems like Lays is always coming out with new kinds of chips,¬†which is to be expected. You can not have enough flavors to choose from. But these aren’t just any flavors, they’re pretty high up there on our bizarre scale.

Melting pot doesn’t even begin to describe the types of flavors that are constantly changing on store shelves. As of now, the company is about to release three new ones- Crispy Taco, Fried Green Tomatoes, and Everything Bagel With Cream Cheese. And don’t forget, Lays doesn’t only mix up the flavors, they also invent new textures. For now, you have a choice of regular, wavy, and kettle cooked.

I will say some flavors aren’t bad and are definitely tasty enough to eat. But overall, the back and forth with the crazy flavors is annoying.¬†Some breakfast foods don’t always jive with the chips scene. If I’m not mistaken, there is a Cinnamon Bun Potato Chip. Why turn a perfectly good Everything bagel and cinnamon bun into a potato chip that’s strictly meant to be salt-based. Yuck?!

Below is a list of chips that make the cut. And one’s that aren’t so lucky.

You can find these at any outdoor BBQ event! With these, you’re taking a bite of smoky summer you wish would last forever!


This makes it into party bowls every time. Don’t doubt its scrumptious, addictive taste!


Sour, but delicious! Some like chips that wake up their taste buds!


Who needs dip when this chip has just the right amount of that thick sour cream taste and velvety flavor of cheddar cheese?


Must Return:

Totally gross! A cinnamon bun and chips are two opposite things. Let’s keep it that way.


Again, coffee has no desire to get to know a salty, potato chip. Who comes up with this stuff?


Just no! How do you make a chip taste like pasta?


First of all, a ketchup-tasting chip just sounds repulsive! Let alone, spicy! Calories that aren’t worth it…
