Go To Museums, Concerts To Live Longer
While diet and exercise are frequently listed as things you must do to extend your life, scientists have discovered another path to longevity.
In a 14-year study of people 50 and older, British researchers found that those who visited museums or attended concerts just once or twice during the year saw a 14 percent drop in their chance of dying during that period.
Those who went more often saw an even bigger benefit, revealed the results published this month in The BMJ, formerly known as The British Medical Journal.
Andrew Steptoe, a co-author of the study, noted that they did not account for the type of show or exhibit, only the act of going in their research.
