When it comes to artists with the most misheard or misunderstood lyrics, Elton John is an all time leader. So many of Elton’s song are hard to sing along with because you don’t always know what he is singing. To be fair, Elton is not a lyricist he’s writes the music to his songs and his famous partner Bernie Taupin wrote the words.
Still, you should be able to understand what Elton is singing but often times you don’t and just mumble or sing what you think you’re hearing.

I’ve put together a list of misheard lyrics from some of Elton John‘s biggest songs. These come from actual fans of Elton that truly thought this is what he was singing.

  Misheard lyric:

  Real lyric:

• 4, Philadelphia Freedom

  Misheard lyric:
