Happy birthday Jack!
It’s hard to believe that the great Jack Nicholson is turning 86 April 22. He’s always seemed like a guy that didn’t want to grow up. Always the jokester and flashing that killer Jack smile, attending Los Angeles Lakers games in the front row. He appears to be the kind a guy you could have a beer with and listen to his stories of Hollywood’s hey day when he ruled the town as one of the original “bad boys”, but nobody beats Father Time.
The folks at The Guardian have compiled a list of his top 13 movies and it is very controversial because some of his big hits such as Terms of Endearment didn’t make the cut of his top 20 movies and other films that are ranked much lower than an average movie fan would have ranked. For instance the movie The Witches of Eastwick comes in at number 19, you would think it would at least be in the top 15 and then there’s A Few Good Men, which is always one of the most quoted Nicholson movies for his everlasting ‘you can’t handle the truth” comes in at a paltry number 15!
At 86, Jack Nicholson is pretty much retired so this list is all we are going to get from him
Unlike Clint Eastwood who is well into his 90’s continues to act and direct movies, Jack is happy to enjoy his retirement in L.A. where he attends fewer Laker games and pretty much has become a recluse. There was a photo taken by a paparazzi recently that showed Jack with his hair very messed up as though he just crawled out of bed having a cup of coffee on his deck. He looks like he was about to yell “get off my lawn”.
So let’s take a look at his 13 Best Movies according to the “experts”
