This time of year, we count the days to when we can sit by the fire and load up our favorite holiday movies. Our favorite movie is National Lampoons, Christmas Vacation! So imagine my shock when I watched as Chevy Chase schooled my wife.
National Lampoon's Vacation
We love those characters SO much, we found a way to meet them at a Comic Con a few years ago. Yes, we met Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo, Anthony Michael Hall and Dana Baron.
IT's CHEVY, not ShhHEVY!
While it was a delight to meet the cast, there was one awkward moment. My wife Heidi (standing next to Anthony Michael Hall) came up with a great idea. Since we are huge fans of the Christmas Vacation movie, she brought scarves, for all us to wear for the photo. When she asked Chevy, she said, "thank you SHEVY." Shevy, AH CHEVY, abruptly responded: "IT"S CH EVY! (Like the CH in CHOWDA.) Heidi was of course, a LITTLE mortified, but was comforted by Anthony Michael Hall, who said, "don't worry, it's only Wallyworld." By the end of the photo, CHEVY was cool and said he enjoyed it. We got a little dose of CHEVY's infamous reputation of being difficult.
So, even though I'll never forget how Chevy Chase schooled my wife, we BOTH recovered and have the best Christmas story to share for years to come.

Chevy Chase will be at Foxwoods Resort Casino’s Great Cedar Showroom on Dec. 3 at 8 p.m. to present a screening of one of his classic Clark Griswold comedies, “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.” (Story shared by Newsbreak.)
