Home projects to continue through 2018!
My favorite smell in the whole world is fresh cut grass. For me, it just reeks of summer and life. The thing I love most about my new house is the big yard. It takes me an hour and a half to mow it (counts as a workout!) and I really enjoy doing it.
The thing is, there's so many different things growing on the lawn that, when mowed, can pass as grass but I'm sure are not! There also seems to be several types of soil. It's all so new to me and I'm excited to learn as I go. I just love, love, love having my own yard!
Oh, wait...did you think I meant.....

This rusty relic was left on the lawn by the previous owners. I disassembled it (actually, it fell apart when I attempted to move it) and it left a big dirt circle in my yard.

I filled that dirt circle with gardening soil. Then, remember that Saturday a couple weeks ago when it rained heavily overnight into the next day? Well, that's when I put some grass seed (and fertilizer which Lung Boy told me I wasn't supposed to do!) on top! I've been watching and watching and yesterday morning I saw it had grass sprouts!!! I'm so excited! I grew grass!!

One of the guys in Lowes Depot said this was good grass so I bought it. (It's wicked smaht seed!)

And he recommended this feed. See? It says on the bag "food for new grass" so I figured it was supposed to be sprinkled on my soon to be "new grass"!

My next project. I fed it . I'll deal with it in the Spring. (Lung Boy just told me about a winterizing fertilizer...I'll think about it.)
