Ah yes. The yard sale. My children have been known to call my spending habits "cheap". I prefer to call my spending habits "sensible".
There seems to be no shortage of yard, garage and estate sales in my new 'hood...which I love! Why, just this past weekend as I made my way to "Lowes Depot" I stopped at no less than four yard sales and one estate sale! (ya shoulda seen that fancy house! they definitely had a gardener.)
I was going to buy a new shovel to replace the old one I'd broken the night before digging out that shrub. Well, don't ya know, one of the yard sales I happened on had two shovels! One for $5, the other for $3. I bought 'em both! The lady said she'd never seen anyone so excited over shovels. Are ya kiddin' me? I just saved a bundle! Which I could then use to buy things I actually didn't need.
Take a look at the other treasures people were happy to get rid of....and I was lucky to find!
