I wish I had a picture of that shrub before I took the shears and then the shovel(s) to it! It was YUUUUGE with many tributaries! I did apologize to the poor thing as I was dismantling it. I think the drought made it easier for me to dig it out. I’m super excited to plant some flowers there!

  When I initially had the home inspection, the inspector told me I might wanna move this overgrown bush away from the house. So one of the first things I did was to give it a very good hair cut.

  Well, naturally it grew back. I knew if I didn't rip it out by the roots, soon it would be as big as it was before.

  So, I got out my shovel and went at it with a vengeance. I have to admit it felt good to get up under the roots and rip it out! However, when using the shovel as a leverage between the shrub and my body, the shovel gave out. It was an old shovel anyway.

  I decided to get a new shovel. Along the way to the hardware store I came across about five yard sales and god forbid I don't stop and look! Guess what I found!!!

  Mission accomplished! I'll have to watch to make sure it doesn't come back in the spring. Now I get to figure out what flowers to plant there!
