Trying on hats for the Party in the Park!

You know what my favorite phrase is – besides “Can I buy you a drink”?

It’s “Welcome to the Four Seasons.” I mean, those are five words just DESTINED to brighten your day!

Lucy and I were super lucky to be invited to the Emerald Necklace Explorers Club Tea at the #FS last month, where we sipped champagne cocktails (me) and fruit juice (Lucy) before snacking on tea sandwiches and amazing mini-cupcakes. The tea had a bigger purpose than filling our bellies and wowing us with service and style. It was to introduce kids to the amazing series of parks the City of Boston offers and help them understand how important the Emerald Necklace is to this city.

Tomorrow is the annual Party in the Park, where ladies who lunch gather to help raise money for the Justine Mee Liff Foundation for the Emerald Necklace, which helps with the upkeep of all those beautiful parks and recreation areas so important to Boston and its residents and visitors.

I’m actually going tomorrow – I bought a hat and it’s HUGE AND SLIGHTLY OBNOXIOUS, but I love it. I’ll post more pictures tomorrow.

In the meantime, take a listen to my interview with former Party in the Park Chair Janet Atkins and Susan Knight, interim president of the Emerald Necklace Conservancy.
