Parents' Weekend!
Pam and I headed down to Washington DC this weekend, with my 20-year-old daughter Abbey, to visit Charlotte, my 19-year-old daughter, who is a sophomore in college at American University. It's our second "parents' weekend", so we were more prepared this time around. Last year, we were so nervous, hoping that she was happy, doing well and making some new friends. This year, we went down knowing that she loves where she goes to school. After two-and-a-half days, although she wouldn't say it, Charlotte was ready for her loving family to go home! LOL! I guess that means she is doing OK without us, which after all, is what college is all about. You go study, make some friends, develop some independence and move forward as a grownup!!
Cheers to all the parents and college kids in the world! - Hank
