New Term: “Doppelbanging” ?! 3/10 6:15 am – The ROR Morning Show Podcast
You’ve probably seen those galleries online of people who look like their pets . . . and there’s even some quasi-science behind it. But have you heard of people dating people who look like themselves? It’s a thing, and there’s a name for it.
The term is: “Doppelbanging,” which is obviously a play on “doppelganger.” According to “Cosmopolitan“, the term first started trending within the LGBT community. And while a lot of people say “opposites attract,” there’s some science behind being attracted to similarities too.
The “Daily Mail” highlighted a few celebrity examples: Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen . . . Courteney Cox and her partner Johnny McDaid . . . Kristen Stewart and her fiancée Dylan Meyer . . . Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake . . . and Benedict Cumberbatch and his wife Sophie Hunter.
