Yelp Names Somerville Restaurant the Most Romantic in Massachusetts

A Somerville tapas bar has gained newfound recognition for making couples swoon on Valentine's Day and throughout the year.

The restaurant review site Yelp named Dail Restaurant & Tapas Bar in Somerville as Massachusetts' most romantic restaurant in its list of the “Top 100 romantic restaurants in the U.S.,” which was published on Jan. 26.

According to a MassLive report, Yelp Elite Squad reviews helped cement Dali's reputation for lively Spanish tapas, shareable plates, and sangria.

“Dali Restaurant & Tapas Bar is a lively Spanish tapas spot with whimsical décor and shareable plates perfect for groups,” Yelp wrote about the establishment. “Guests enjoy sangria, garlicky shrimp, and bacon-wrapped dates in a vibrant, mosaic-filled dining room. Yelpers love the festive, bohemian vibe.”

The intimate vibe of Dali is the product of owners Mario Leon and Tamara Bourso, whose collaboration and planning culminated in the opening of Dali in 1989 after extensive renovation of the building at 415 Washington St. in Somerville.

In 2025, the Boston Globe's Kara Baskin visited Dali and praised its “old-school atmosphere” that rivals the “vibey new places” that are “lit for Instagram and priced to match.” She noted that most dishes are less than $20 and some are less than $10.

“I hoped the magic would still be there,” Baskin wrote. “And it was.”

Yelp reviewers also celebrated Dali's entrancing atmosphere. The restaurant earned a 4.3 out of five stars on Yelp, based on approximately 1,300 reviews.

Dali is open for dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. Reservations are available online or by calling 617-661-3254.
