Kowloon Restaurant Plans Revere Beach Location Opening This Summer

A well-known Chinese restaurant is planning to open a new location at Revere Beach near Boston.

The Boston Restaurant Talk blog reported that an Instagram post from The Phantom Gourmet, in addition to a note from Bob Upton of RevereBeach.com, noted that Kowloon in Saugus would be expanding its presence in the Boston community.

The exact location and an opening date have not yet been established, although Dave Andelman said in the Instagram post that Kowloon in Revere Beach is slated to open sometime this summer.

Kowloon has occupied an integral role in the Saugus restaurant community since 1950, when it first opened as The Mandarin House. The restaurant has been in the news recently due to redevelopment plans for its property on Route 1. Those plans include two mixed-use structures, one of which would house a reduced version of the present-day Kowloon.
