A Massachusetts man is getting recognized for his reimagining of the Christmas movie classic Elf.
Colton Cunningham has been reimagining Buddy the Elf in Boston. He's posted social skits that place the movie character at local landmarks like the Zakim Bridge and the Common, as well as popular spots like Dunkin' and Kowloon.
Cunningham, known on Instagram and TikTok as @beefeatsfirst, purchased a Buddy the Elf costume for a 5K race and found a creative way to use it.
According to an NBC10 Boston report, Cunningham performs in full Will Ferrell–style as Buddy, visiting Boston icons and greeting Wally the Green Monster while recreating iconic movie moments.
He hoped for a Santa cameo in the "throne-of-lies scene" but could not secure a Santa performer for that moment.
Cunningham's antics have drawn notable attention, racking up more than a quarter of a million views across social media.
"They're [his fans] gonna be really disappointed when I go back to like food reviews, and I'm not dressed as Buddy the Elf walking around," he told NBC10 Boston.
