170 Mass. Firefighters to Be Honored Tuesday During 36th Annual Firefighter Awards
A major awards ceremony Tuesday will honor more than 150 Massachusetts firefighters during the 36th Annual Firefighter of the Year Awards in Worcester.

A major awards ceremony Tuesday will honor more than 150 Massachusetts firefighters during the 36th Annual Firefighter of the Year Awards in Worcester.
Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey, Public Safety & Security Secretary Gina K. Kwon, and State Fire Marshal Jon M. Davine will recognize 170 firefighters statewide for a range of fire service achievements.
According to a Patch of Worcester report, this year's recipients hail from multiple cities and towns across the state, including the following:
- Brockton
- Canton
- Chelsea
- Chicopee
- Everett
- Fall River
- Fitchburg
- Framingham
- Lowell
- Marlborough
- New Bedford
- Pittsfield
- Rockland
- Stoneham
- Yarmouth
Additional honorees will include those from the state's Firefighting Academy and the Department of Conservation & Recreation's Bureau of Forest Fire Control & Forestry.
WCVB-TV news anchor Doug Meehan will serve as emcee. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at Mechanics Hall, 321 Main St., Worcester, from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Nov. 25.
