Fodor’s Names Cambridge Bagel Shop Among Top 15 in the US

A Cambridge bagel shop has taken top honors in a list of the 15 best bagel establishments in the United States.

Fodor's Travel has named Bagelsaurus in Cambridge among its top 15 picks. Bagelsaurus, located at 1796 Massachusetts Ave. in Porter Square, is known for its slow-fermented sourdough bagels and house-made cream cheese spreads. Since opening in 2013, the business has gained a substantial following. 

Here's what Fodor's Travel had to say about the bagels from Bagelsaurus:

"Our favorite dinosaur (aside from the T. rex and Brontosaurus, of course) is the elusive Bagelsaurus that resides in Harvard's backyard of Cambridge. While its bagels are exceptionally light and fluffy, the modern shop is known for its decades-old sourdough culture that has produced thousands of the A.M. staple since 2013 (including owner Mary Ting Hyatt's signature sea salt variety topped with honey-rosemary cream cheese)."

Rover Bagel in Biddeford, Maine, was the only other New England bagel shop highlighted in the Fodor's Travel list.
